【摘要】:IntheUnitedStates,electrocutionsinthehomenumberabout560peryear,whileindustryelectrocutionsarethefifthleadingcauseofoccupationaldeaths,accountingfor5348deaths,oraboutsevenpercentofallwork-relateddeathsfortheperiodbetween1980and1992.Electricalburnsaccountfor4to6.5%ofalladmissionstoburnunitsintheUnitedStatesandaccountforapproximately800fatalitiesperyearintheUnitedStatesfrom1984through1987.Recordingoffindingsandphysicaldatafollowinganelectricalincidentiscriticaltodeterminingcauseandstepsthatcanbetakentopreventfutureincidents.Documentationandpreservationofthephysicalitems,alongwithphotographicandvideorecordings,helpsconveyfindingstotechnicalandnon-technicalthirdparties.Thedocumentarydata,whichincludesreportsandstatements,isusedtocorroboratethephysicaldataandfindings.Theexaminationoftheeventsalongwiththescientificmethodmaypermitareconstructionoftheincident.Theexaminationoftheeventsalongwiththescientificmethodmaypermitareconstructionoftheincident.Incidentinvestigationsshouldbeconductedassoonaspossibleaftertheevent.Mostaccidentsareinvestigatedwithinminutesorhoursbypoliceorregulatoryauthorities.Often,severalauthoritiesareatthesceneatonetimeandeacharegenerallyrequiredtodocumenttheirfindingsinanofficialreport.Thedocumentsgeneratedbytheseauthoritiesaresignificantsincetheyreflecttheearliestobservationsofthescene;however,becausefirstrespondershaveaprimaryresponsibilitytoprotectlifeandpropertyandtopreventfurtherharm,thesedocumentsmaynotreflecteverypertinentdetail.1.1Thispracticecoversguidelinesfortherecognition,documentation,collectionandpreservationofpotentiallyrelevantinformationandphysicalitemsinvolvingelectricalincidents,electricalinjury,and/ortheelectrocutionofindividualsinlowandmediumvoltageresidentialandindustrialinstallations.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
