【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthefieldvanetestinsaturatedclayandsiltsoilsfordeterminationofundrainedshearstrength.Knowledgeofthenatureofthesoilinwhicheachvanetestistobemadeisnecessaryforassessmentoftheapplicabilityandinterpretationofthetest.Thetestisnotapplicableforsandysoilswhichmayallowdrainageduringthetest.1.2Thistestmethodaddressestestingonlandandfortestingindrillholesorbyselfdrillingorcontinuouspushmethodsfromthegroundsurface.Thismethoddoesnotaddressspecificallymarinetestingwherespecialtestrequirementsorvariationsinequipmentmayberequired.TheuserisreferredtoASTMSTP1014foradditionalinformationonin-placevanesheartesting.1.3Thismethodisoftenusedinconjunctionwithfluidrotarydrilling(D5783)orhollow-stemaugers(D6151).Someapparatuseshavethevaneretractedinprotectiveshoeforadvancementandincrementaltesting.Sampling,suchaswiththinwalltubes(D1587)isoftencombinedwithvanetesting.Subsurfacegeotechnicalexplorationsarereportedinaccordancewithpractice(D5434).1.4UndrainedshearstrengthandsensitivityofcohesivesoilscanalsobemeasuredinUnconfinedCompressionD2166andLaboratoryVaneTest(D4648).1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.English(Imperial)unitsaregiveninparentheses.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
