【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesulfatedashfromunusedlubricatingoilscontainingadditivesandfromadditiveconcentratesusedincompounding.Theseadditivesusuallycontainoneormoreofthefollowingmetals:barium,calcium,magnesium,zinc,potassium,sodium,andtin.Theelementssulfur,phosphorus,andchlorinecanalsobepresentincombinedform.1.2Applicationofthistestmethodtosulfatedashlevelsbelow0.02mass%isrestrictedtooilscontainingashlessadditives.Thelowerlimitofthetestmethodis0.005mass%sulfatedash.Note18212;Thistestmethodisnotintendedfortheanalysisofusedengineoilsoroilscontaininglead.Neitherisitrecommendedfortheanalysisofnonadditivelubricatingoils,forwhichTestMethodD482canbeused.Note28212;Thereisevidencethatmagnesiumdoesnotreactthesameasotheralkalimetalsinthistest.Ifmagnesiumadditivesarepresent,thedataisinterpretedwithcaution.Note38212;Thereisevidencethatsamplescontainingmolybdenumcangivelowresultsbecausemolybdenumcompoundsarenotfullyrecoveredatthetemperatureofashing.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
